Unique Collaboration between University Faculty and Data and Analytics Industry Leaders

TUN was founded in 2002 and is currently supported by a passionate group of professors and Teradata leaders, all committed to providing FREE teaching resources to college and university faculty. The objective is to deliver a truly collaborative environment bringing together technology companies and academia providing resources for faculty and students to stay current with advances in analytics and data.

Today, Teradata University Network has expanded the academic board to encompass faculty from across business and computer science, reflective of the impact data and analytics has on our data-driven world.  Our “by faculty for faculty” model means that 90% of the resources available on TUN were created by faculty who understand the challenges of incorporating new technologies into existing or newly developing curriculum.

Faculty who register for TUN access are provided everything from assignments, exercises, and videos, to teaching notes on how to use these resources in their classes -- all written by faculty who have used and tested them with their own students.  MIS, Computer Science, and Marketing registered faculty members are encouraged to contribute on any data or analytics topic.

TUN Partners: Powerful Connections

Since program inception, working with Teradata partners who also are passionate about supporting academia has been a differentiator for Teradata University Network.  It is a network of not only faculty but also top technology companies.  Over the years our partnerships have continued to strengthen.  Faculty and students can select on hands-on experiences on the TUN website with not only Teradata technology (Teradata database and SQL assistant, Teradata Aster), but also with SAS Visual Analytics/Visual Statistics and Fuzzy Logix.  Teaching resources supporting other TUN partners including IBM Watson Analytics, MicroStrategy, Tableau, and NetApp are also available.  Many of these companies have their own academic programs, but partner with Teradata University Network due to the strength of our community and value our program delivers to our members.

Student Competitions

Each year, students from around the globe participate in Teradata’s two student competitions. Selected finalists from both competitions earn a free PARTNERS registration for a team member and their faculty sponsor to the conference where they share their work in both formal presentations and poster settings. Conference attendees even help select some of the winners. Recent years have seen student submissions and winners from multiple countries.

Special Rates Teradata PARTNERS Conference

Special rates are available for both students and faculty to connect and learn from the experts.
